1. FC Köln has signed Artjoms Rudnevs. The 28-year-old arrives on a free transfer following his most recent stint at Hamburger SV.

1. FC Köln has strengthened the squad for the coming season with an experienced striker. Artjoms Rudnevs has signed a three-year deal that will keep him at FC until June 30th, 2019. He arrives on a free transfer as a result of his contract with HSV having come to an end. “Artjoms is a robust striker that knows the Bundesliga well and gives us further options in attack,” said FC General Manager Jörg Schmadtke.

Rudnevs has played in the Bundesliga for four years – he arrived in Hamburg in 2012 by way of Polish club Lech Posen. In the second half of the 2013/14 season he played on loan at Hannover 96. For the two clubs Rudnves played a total of 90 matches and scored 19 goals in the process. In the DFB Cup he struck twice in three matches. Rudnves has also appeared for the Latvian national team on 35 occasions (1 goal).

Rudnevs states: “I had great talks with the representatives of 1. FC Köln and want to play my part in building a successful future. I have only heard good things about this club and this team. The atmosphere in the stadium is great and I have always enjoyed it.”
