“A huge signing”

Beck moves to FC-Frauen

Sharon Beck will join FC-Frauen next season. The 24-year-old Israeli international has signed a contract for both the Bundesliga and 2. Bundesliga with FC.

For the upcoming season, FC-Frauen have secured an impressive new arrival. Sharon Beck will join 1. FC Köln on a free transfer from SC Freiburg. The attacker has scored 12 goals in 97 Bundesliga games to date.

Beck played for both the German under-16 and under-17 teams, securing the European Championship in 2012. In 2018, she was part of the Germany squad for the SheBelieves Cup. However, given that her father comes from Israel, that presented her with the opportunity to play for them. That was an offer she took up in the same year.

Beck has featured in the FLYERALARAM Frauen-Bundesliga for SGS Essen, Bayer Leverkusen, TSG Hoffenheim and SC Freiburg. She was part of the Freiburg squad that reached the DFB-Pokal final in Köln last year.

Nicole Bender, sporting director of the Frauen: “The signing of Sharon Beck is a huge move for the club. We want to bring women’s football to the fore at FC. The fact that a player of Sharon’s quality has joined and signed a deal for both divisions shows that she is completely convinced of how things will be here. I want to thank everyone who helped make the transfer possible and we’ll keep working hard to bring fantastic players to FC.”

Sharon Beck said: “Those responsible at FC were really interested in me and the talks were exceptional. It perhaps sounds strange that I would also want to go into 2. Liga, but I’m absolutely certain of what the future at FC holds and I’m very pleased to be a part of that soon.”

Sascha Glass, head coach, said: “We were interested in Sharon early on. She’s a very technically strong attacker who can score goals. She’s creative and good in one-on-one situations. We’re very pleased that she’ll be a part of the team from this summer.”
