1. FC Köln have strengthened their midfield with Elvis Rexhbecaj from VfL Wolfsburg. The 22-year-old midfielder has joined on a loan until summer 2021. On Sunday evening, the new signing arrived in Benidorm and will take part in training on Monday.
“Elvis is a strong runner and a disciplined footballer. He can play in various positions in midfield and will improve the quality in this aspect,” said FC managing director, Horst Heldt.
“I absolutely want to play. That’s why I decided on this move. The discussions with FC and the chance to play here and develop in the next year-and-a-half fitted me best,” said Elvis Rexhbecaj. He made 24 appearances for Wolfsburg last season as they qualified for the Europa League, racking up two goals and two assists.
Elvis Rexhbecaj was born on 1st November 1997 in Gjonaj, Kosovo. He took his first steps in football with Brandenburger SC Süd 05. Since a young age, however, the central midfielder has been with VfL Wolfsburg. In January 2018, he made his debut for the Wolves against Hannover 96.
