Eunice Beckmann signs for FC Frauen

FC Frauen have made another new signing ahead of the new season, in the form of Eunice Beckmann. The 27-year-old forward last played for Madrid CFF.

1. FC Köln are continuing to work hard on building a team in order to secure safety in the Frauen-Bundesliga next season. That moved on another step with the signing of Eunice Beckmann. The 27-year-old striker was twice Bundesliga champion with Bayern Munich and won the DFB-Pokal with Duisburg.

After her time in Munich, the Wuppertal-born attacker headed for the USA and Boston Breakers, finished as top goalscorer (25 goals) in Switzerland with FC Basel and last featured for Madrid CFF. In the Spain, she managed to score the Goal of the Year for 2018. For Duisburg, Beckmann also featured in the Champions League and, overall, she has made 97 Bundesliga appearances. She also featured regularly through the German youth set-ups and was European Champion with the under-19s in 2011.

Team manager, Nicole Bender said: “We’re really pleased that, despite many other offers, Eunice has decided to sign for 1. FC Köln. She is technically strong and is superb in front of goal. We can’t wait to see her in an FC kit.”

Eunice Beckmann said: “It was a great moment to sign the contract with FC. My first impressions were very positive and convinced me straight away. After many years abroad, I’m really excited to be back in Germany and to live in Köln. I think it’s great to be a part of the FC family and I’m buzzing for the new season in the Bundesliga.”
