New Contracts

Extensions for Rausch and Lehmann

Matthias Lehmann and Konstantin Rausch have extended their respective contracts with 1. FC Köln.

FC have secured the future services of two important squad members. The contract extensions of Captain Matthias Lehmann and left-back Konstantin Rausch were finalized while Jörg Schmadtke was still Managing Director of the club. Lehmann was given a one-year extension until 2019, while Rausch received an additional two years to his current deal (set to run until 2019) and will remain an FC player until 2021.

Matthias Lehmann: “I have always said that I would like to end my career at 1. FC Köln. It has worked wonderfully in the past few years. The current situation does not change that. I also happen to be convinced that we can get out of this difficult phase.”

Lehmann has been a player of 1. FC Köln since July 2012. He has since featured in a total of 169 competitive matches for FC, spanning competitions like the Bundesliga, Bundesliga 2, DFB-Pokal, and the UEFA Europa league. He has been the captain of the team since July 2015.

Konstantin Rausch came in the summer of 2016 on a free transfer from SV Darmstadt 98. He has so far featured in 41 competitive matches for FC.

Peter Stöger: “Looking at both the sporting side and the character of these two players, they have a high importance in our team. We are very happy to know that they want to continue to be part of this team.”
