1. FC Köln have loaned out Jonas Urbig. The German youth international, who has a long-term contract at FC past summer 2024, has joined SSV Jahn Regensburg on loan until 30th June 2024.
FC Managing Director, Christian Keller said: “Jonas brings everything needed to be a Bundesliga goalkeeper in the future. To make sure that he can develop in such a manner, it is important that he gets game time at the highest possible level. With the loan to SSV Jahn Regensburg, he is increasing his chances of doing that. It is therefore a very important step for Jonas to establish himself in professional football.”
Jonas Urbig said: “FC is my club and I would have liked to have made my first-team debut here, I worked every day towards doing that. I want to keep developing and I want to play, therefore I decided with those responsible at FC for the loan. SSV Jahn Regensburg gives me the chance to play well through good performances and progress further.”
Jonas Urbig was born on 8th August 2003 in Euskirchen. Since 2012, Jonas has been at FC and been part of the Germany setup on a regular basis since the under-17s. The 19-year-old has been a part of the first-team at FC since 2021-22. This season, he has played 13 times for the FC under-21s in the Regionalliga West.
