Thomas Kessler, Head of First-Team Operations, said: "With his dynamism, his attacking qualities and his drive to goal, Marvin caught the eye early on at FC. In the past year, we tied Marvin down to a long-term first-team contract because he has everything to make it in first-team football. His debut in the DFB-Pokal is a clear sign of where he can go. With the loan to Kiel, we want to give Marvin the opportunity to make the next step at a higher level to return ready and with important experience for next year. In the second division he can develop just as we imagine. Especially at Holstein Kiel who, through their brave and attacking football, have established themselves in the top half. In this way, we offer our biggest talents the chance to earn important game time between Franz-Kremer-Stadion and the RheinEnergieSTADION."
