The second new arrival of the summer. Denis Huseinbasic has signed a deal until 2025 with 1. FC Köln. The versatile midfielder has made use of a clause in his contract and made the move from Kickers Offenbach to FC. Both clubs have agreed to not disclose the exact details of the transfer.
FC Managing Director, Christian Keller said: “Denis Huseinbasic is a sought-after young player with a lot of room to develop. Therefore, we believable that he can make the enormous leap from the fourth to the first division. However, Denis knows that he will have to work hard on himself and the areas he needs to develop. Our coaching staff will give him the necessary help and impulses. At the same time, Denis will get the time he requires that his development needs.”
Denis Huseinbasic said: “I am proud to be a part of the FC family in the future and I want to thank everyone who has helped make this possible – especially my family. Denis Huseinbasic was born in Erbach on 3rd July 2001 and grew up in Michelstadt. In his youth, he played for SpVgg Erbach, SV Darmstadt 98, Eintracht Frankfurt and, since 2018, Kickers Offenbach. In the past two years, he has made 58 appearances in the Regionalliga Südwest, scoring nine goals and setting up a further seven. In the final game of the league season, Huseinbasic managed to score a hat-trick in the 4:0 win against FSV Frankfurt.
