Jasmin Pal will join 1. FC Köln for the 2022-23 season from SC Sand and has signed a deal until 30th June 2024. Pal is the sixth signing for FC Frauen ahead of the new season.
The 25-year-old goalkeeper was born in Innsbruck. Pal played in the FC Wacker Innsbruck and made it into the first-team. Her first excursion outside of Austria was in 2015 with 2. Bundesliga club BV Cloppenburg. After her return a year later, she made the move back to Germany and SC Sand in the FLYERALARM Frauen-Bundesliga. There, she advanced to first-choice goalkeeper until she tore her ACL in January. She is currently on the road to recovery in rehab.
Jasmin Pal said: “In the past two years, I’ve gained experience in the Bundesliga. The time is now right for me to further my development at a new club. The discussion and my visit to Köln gave me a positive feeling right away, and I absolutely wanted to join FC. I will do everything to be fully fit again this summer and hopefully have the chance to be at the European Championship as well.”
Head coach Sascha Glass said: “We are pleased that we were able to sign Jasmin. In the last two years at SC Sand, she has put in good performances and was very reliable there. Jasmin will form a strong goalkeeping duo with Manon Klett. She makes a very confident impression and passes that on to her defenders during the game. We are all hoping that she will be at the European Championship in England this summer.”
For Austria, Pal has gone through all national youth teams. In November 2021, her dream became a reality as she made her debut for the senior Austrian national team.
