FC sign Lasse Sobiech

Defender Lasse Sobiech has signed a four-year deal with 1. FC Köln following a free transfer from FC St. Pauli.

The first signing for the 2018/19 season is complete: Lasse Sobiech will arrive on a free transfer from FC St. Pauli. The defender has signed a four-year deal with 1. FC Köln.

FC Managing Director Armin Veh: “Lasse is a very experienced defender with great character. He takes on responsibility and has the ambition to take the path with us back to the Bundesliga.”

Lasse Sobiech states: “FC is an ambitious club with ambitious goals. That is exactly the challenge I was seeking for my next stop. I want to achieve promotion with FC next season.”

Lasse Sobiech was born on 18 January 1991 in Schwerte and received his academy training at Borussia Dortmund. The center-back has played a combined 34 Bundesliga matches for SpVgg Greuther Fürth and Hamburger SV. The 27-year-old has featured in 131 competitive matches for FC St. Pauli in the second division and has scored 16 goals in the process.
