The new fixtures for the 2020-21 campaign have been announced. On the opening weekend, 1. FC Köln will welcome TSG Hoffenheim to the RheinEnergieSTADION. The game will take place between 19th and 21st September. The first away game of the season sees FC travel to Arminia Bielefeld. On Matchday 3, it’s derby time against Gladbach.
“It’s nice to start with a home game. With Hoffenheim, we are going to be immediately tested with a team who are competing in the Europa League,” said FC head coach, Markus Gisdol.
FC managing director, Horst Heldt said: “We have to play against everyone. Therefore, I hope for a good start at home in front of as many fans as possible.”
Bayern Munich will travel to Köln on Matchday 6 (30/10 – 2/11), with Bayer Leverkusen taking on FC in the RheinEnergieSTADION on Matchday 12 (15-16/12). Shortly before the end of the year, FC will potentially be playing in the second round of the DFB-Pokal on 22-23 December. There is no Winter Break this year, meaning Matchday 14 sees a return to action on 2-4 January at home against FC Augsburg. FC end the season at home against FC Schalke 04 on 22nd May.
