New Contract

Horn extends until 2022

1. FC Köln has extended the contract of Goalkeeper Timo Horn until 30 June 2022.

1. FC Köln have revealed the contract extension of Timo Horn just ahead of the Bundesliga home fixture against Borussia Mönchengladbach at the RheinEnergieSTADION. The 23-year-old has signed a new deal that will keep him at the club until 30 June 2022. His prior deal was set to expire in 2019.

“Timo Horn is an excellent goalkeeper. His development at FC is remarkable and documents his ambition. It is phenomenal that he has decided for a long-term future with FC,” said FC Head Coach Peter Stöger.

Timo Horn states: “FC is my club and Cologne is my sporting home. The club has made tremendous progress in recent years and I want to continue on this path together. I remain ambitious and am convinced that we can still accomplish plenty together. I thank FC for the trust and faith instilled in me. I am excited to face the next challenges with my teammates and our incredible fans.”

Horn has been part of the FC youth academy since he was nine years of age and has featured for all DFB national teams starting with the U15 team. In 2012, he became the starting goalkeeper of the FC First Team. Since then he has featured in 155 competitive matches for FC in the Bundesliga, the Bundesliag second division, and the DFB-Pokal. In the summer of 2016, Horn won the silver medal at the Rio de Janeiro Olympic Games with the German national team.
