Jhon Cordoba has joined Hertha BSC from 1. FC Köln. With the sale of the striker, FC have earned the second highest transfer fee in club history. Both clubs have agreed to keep the details of the contract under wraps. The Colombian has signed a deal until 2024 with the capital club.
“Jhon played a decisive role in keeping the club up with his goals. Therefore, we are very thankful. After such a season, whether or not to let such a player go. At the end of the day, it was Jhon’s wish to move – and we’ve reached a great solution with Hertha. We wish him all the best for the future,” said FC managing director, Horst Heldt.
Jhon Cordoba arrived at 1. FC Köln in summer 2017 from 1. FSV Mainz 05. Since then, he has made 47 appearances in the Bundesliga for FC (13 goals, four assists) and scored 20 goals (three assists) in the 2. Bundesliga to help secure the return to the top flight.
