FC Frauen have signed a new goalkeeper and have strengthened the ranks with Manon Klett from SC Sand. Klett was the first-choice goalkeeper at Sand in the past season and, due to injury, made 13 Bundesliga appearances for the club. FC head coach, Sascha Glass worked with Klett in Sand up until his move to FC in January this year. Before joining Sand, Klett played for FSV Gütersloh and VfL Wolfsburg II.
FC head coach, Sascha Glass said: “I am completely convinced of Manon’s ability. She has already shown in her first year of Bundesliga football that she belongs to the top German goalkeepers. She exudes calm and is a goalkeeper with incredible reactions, putting her in the position to decide games with her saves. We are pleased that with her and Paule Nelles, who has developed well in the last few months, we have two very good goalkeepers in our ranks.”
Manon Klett said: “I had brilliant discussions with those responsible at 1. FC Köln. I felt the level of trust straight away and I’m looking for to the new city and new challenge in Köln. After my thumb injury last season, I’m fit again and I’m eager to prove that I can be depended upon in goal.”
