Lifelong FC Club Member

Lukas Podolski signs on for life

It was just about a week ago that 1. FC Köln began offering lifelong club memberships. Today, World Cup champion Lukas Podolski, along with his son Louis, signed on to become lifelong members.

Once FC, always FC: Lukas Podolski stopped by at Geissbockheim on Thursday afternoon to sign the lifelong club membership agreement for himself and for his son, Louis. "I heard FC was offering fans and club members to become lifelong members and I thought to myself: that is awesome," said Podolski. "My son and I wanted to be lifelong club members either way, and now we have made it official." "The lifelong membership is a symbol for the club and for the fans." - Lukas Podolski After he signed on the dotted line, Lukas Podolski hung around to watch the afternoon training of the 1. FC Köln first team. Podolski himself signed a contract this summer with Galatasaray S.K. of the Turkish Super Lig, and will be playing football in Istanbul in the upcoming season.

With the lifelong club membership FC-Fans can strengthen their bond to the club to another level. Current memberships can be converted into the lifelong membership, while new members can sign up directly for the lifelong membership as well. In honor of the year the club was founded, the cost for the lifelong membership is set at EUR 1,948. With the one-time payment, lifelong club members will never have to pay membership fees again.
