Wednesday Training Report

Off into the summer

1. FC Köln took part in the final training session of the 2015/16 season on Wednesday afternoon. Following the exhibition match on Thursday against Eintracht Trier the FC players will officially enter the summer break.

It was all positive vibes on Wednesday afternoon as the FC players gathered for the final training session of the season. Seven players were unavailable for FC Head Coach Peter Stöger.

Heintz the goalkeeper?

Highlight of the day: Timo Horn hands off the goalkeeper gloves to Dominique Heintz, who shows off his potential as a keeper. “The past couple of days have been very relaxed and I think you could see it in training. We played a satisfying season. Now it is nice to have a break,” said Timo Horn after training.

What is not clear at this point is whether the FC No.1 will take part in the Olympic games. “I have had some good talks with Horst Hrubesch (German U21 Coach). During the qualifications he told me already that he would be counting on me,” said Horn. The nominations and the final squad are yet to be revealed.

Off into the summer break

The training session on Wednesday was the last one for Philipp Hosiner and Daniel Mesenhoeler, who will both leave the club.

On Thursday the FC players will take place in an exhibition match against Eintracht Trier. The preparations for the 2016/17 season will begin on July 4th.
