1. FC Köln will start training again on Friday. The beginning will involve a series of fitness tests for the first team. FC head coach, Markus Gisdol will meet with the team in the morning at Geißbockheim. In two groups, captain Jonas Hector and the players will complete different function and stability tests behind closed doors. There will be no training on the day. After lunch, the FC players will head for a bleep test.
On Saturday morning, the team will head to the Winter training camp in Benidorm, where football will be the focus. Along with the training sessions on the pitch at the hotel, there will be three friendlies against sides from the Jupiler Pro League. On Tuesday 7th January at 12:00 CET, FC will face Belgian cup winners, KV Mechelen at Estadio Municipal Guillermo Amor. At 15:00 CET, they take on Sporting Charleroi - currently second in the Belgian top tier. On Friday 10th January, FC will take on KRC Genk, who were in this year’s UEFA Champions League group stage. The venue for the game against Genk is not yet known.
