Following the away game against TSG Hoffenheim, Sebastiaan Bornauw had complained of back problems. The FC team doctors Dr. Peter Schäferhoff and Dr. Paul Klein diagnosed a bony change in the Belgian’s spine. After conservative treatment did not bring the improvement that was hoped for, the 21-year-old will undergo a minimally invasive operation on Wednesday.
FC Managing Director, Horst Heldt said: “Obviously we wanted to avoid the operation, which is why we opted to conservatively handle things first. That did not lead to the pain subsiding, however. After he had several expert opinions, he will be operated on this Wednesday.”
Get well soon, Seb!
