FC secure BVB Defender

Subotic arrives on loan

1. FC Köln have secured the loan transfer of Neven Subotic from Borussia Dortmund. The center back completed his medical check this morning and is set to take part in the afternoon FC training session.

1. FC Köln have secured the loan of center back Neven Subotic from Borussia Dortmund until the end of the season. The Serbian was part of BVB since 2008 and appeared in 220 Bundesliga matches (20 goals). His achievements at Dortmund include two Bundesliga titles as well as a DFB-Pokal.

"We are all happy to have Neven here and are excited for his time with FC. His years in Dortmund ca be defined by incredible success, as he was an integral part of their championship teams. He is coming off a difficult spell, but this allowed us the opportunity to work with him. We are convinced that Neven Subotic can become an important player for us in the next six months," said FC Head Coach Peter Stöger.

Neven Subotic (28) states: "I am here with a smile on my face and am excited to take on this challenge with a new club. I am very grateful for the fantastic years at BVB. As an ambitious professional my focus starting today is 100% on 1. FC Köln. I want to play in the Bundesliga again. That is what spurs me."

Subotic will wear the number 2 at FC.
