Striker to miss Bundesliga start

Two-game ban for Jhon Cordoba

FC’s Jhon Cordoba was sent off for a foul on Regensburg striker, Hamadi Al Ghaddioui on Sunday. The German Football Association’s (DFB) sporting court has suspended him for two league games.

The DFB’s sporting court has suspended FC’s Jhon Cordoba for two games following his red card in the home game against Regensburg. The 26-year-old striker was dismissed by referee, Dr. Robert Kampka in added time in the first half.

As a consequence, the Colombian will not just miss the final game of the 2. Bundesliga season against 1. FC Magdeburg, but also the beginning of the Bundesliga campaign 2019-20. “It’s a shame for Jhon. He has developed incredibly well this year and has put in some superb performances. Even if he isn’t available for the first game, we are convinced that he will continue this form in the Bundesliga,” said FC managing director, Armin Veh.
