Training on Wednesday

“We really want to win”

Sehrou Guirassy returned to 1. FC Köln team training on Wednesday after overcoming his ankle injury, while Simon Terodde spoke a few words after training.

The Franz-Kremer-Stadion was once again packed with action on Wednesday as the 1. FC Köln players took part in two training sessions. After warming up with various exercises, the group was split into smaller 5v5 teams. Joining the three professional goalkeepers was American Brady Scott, who usually plays for the U21 team. Making his return to the team was Sehrou Guirassy, who was able to overcome his ankle injury. “Sehrou is on track. We will see how he is feeling tomorrow and evaluate whether he will be an option on Saturday,” said FC head coach Stefan Ruthenbeck.

Simon Terodde once again showed his goalscoring prowess in the small-sided matches. Asked about his scoring ratio, the FC number 9 replied, “I personally would give up my goals in favor of points.” When asked about the recent defeat, Terodde replied practically: “The defeat in Frankfurt was deserved, so we were able to move on fairly quickly.”

The FC players continue to prepare for Saturday’s fixture against Hannover 96, for which Terodde remains highly optimistic. “We really want to win this match. It is at home in front of our own fans. I am confident that we can pick up all three points,” said Terodde.
