Transfer to Bremen

Yuya Osako leaves FC

Following four years in a kit of 1. FC Köln, Yuya Osako will transfer to fellow Bundesliga club SV Werder Bremen.

Japanese international forward Yuya Osako will transfer from 1. FC Köln to SV Werder Bremen. The two clubs have agreed not to disclose the transfer fee.

FC Managing Director Armin Veh states: “Yuya has the opportunity at Bremen to continue playing Bundesliga football, which is very important to him considering his international career. We wish him all the best.”

Yuya Osako states: “I had four very exciting years in Cologne with many special moments. I am sorry that my time here is ending with relegation. I am grateful for my teammates and the complete team at Geissbockheim for their support during our years together. I wish FC the best and that they will achieve promotion as quickly as possible.”

Yuya Osako came to Cologne at the start of the 2014/15 season by way of 1860 Munich. He has featured in 120 competitive matches for FC, in which he has scored 19 goals and provided 18 assists. FC would like to thank Yuya for his efforts in the FC kit and wishes him all the best in his future endeavors.
