He arrived following the change of Head Coach during the past season and played an important part in helping 1. FC Köln secure their place in the Bundesliga next season. Armin Reutershahn will also remain with the club as Assistant Coach in the following season under René Wagner. The 66-year-old has signed a two-year-deal with FC.

FC Head Coach, René Wagner is also looking forward to continuing their working relationship: “I am super pleased that Armin will be with us in the new season. I learned his true value in the last few months whilst working with him. Armin helped us a lot in a difficult period with his calmness and experience and will continue to be an important person for me.”
Armin Reutershahn said: “I was taken in and welcome well straight from the start, the work together with the coaching staff and the team itself was great and we were able to reach our goal of staying up together. Now I want to help stabilise us further in the Bundesliga and to take the next step in our development.”
After his studies at the Sporthochschule in Köln, Armin Reutershahn worked for several clubs from 1991 onwards, including KFC Uerdingen, Hamburger SV, Eintracht Frankfurt and Borussia Dortmund. The Duisburg-native has worked alongside Firedhelm Funkel, Huub Stevens, Julian Nagelsmann, Adi Hütter and Niko Kovac. He won the 2018 DFB-Pokal with Eintracht Frankfurt.
