1. FC Köln were able to secure a spectacular comeback win against VfL Bochum at the weekend. The support for the 2:1 win didn’t just come from the RheinEnergieSTADION, but instead from Japan.
In Hiroshima on Saturday at 22:30 in Japan, around 40 FC fans gathered to watch the game from afar. Prior to the game, three FC kits were raffled off before the FC-Hymne was sung shortly before kick-off. It might have taken 90 minutes, but there was pure joy from the fans in Hiroshima following Steffen Tigges and Luca Waldschmidt’s headers to earn all three points.
