1. FC Köln have signed Borna Sosa. The 28-year-old left-back has joined from Crystal Palace and will spend the 2026-27 season on loan at FC.

At the same time, we got to know him as a very reflected, positive person in our discussions. His personality fits really well to us and he’ll be able to bring in his experience off the pitch as well. With his strong left foot, his desire to get forward and his quality crossing, he gives us different options in our game,” said FC Managing Director, Thomas Kessler.
“I k now Köln from my time in Stuttgart. I still remember our away games very well, Köln has one of the best atmospheres in the league. Now I’m really looking forward to experiencing that feeling as an FC player here in the stadium. I have followed how FC started the season because I still watch the Bundesliga. For me, the most important thing is that we perform well as a team, then every individual will have a successful season,” said Borna Sosa.
Borna Sosa was born on 21st January 1998 in Zagreb. The Croatian international, who also has a German passport, has made 27 appearances for his country, notching up two goals and four assists. The left-back has been with Premier League side, Crystal Palace since 2025. In the past season, he featured 18 times. Sosa went through the Dinamo Zagreb academy, where he made the jump up to first-team football. In 2018, he joined VfB Stuttgart and played 115 games for the club. He scored five goals and registered 35 assists. At Ajax, he made 25 appearances (five assists). In the 2024-25 season, he was on loan at Torino before he made the move to England and Crystal Palace.
