1. FC Köln have loaned out Jusuf Gazibegović once more. The 26-year-old right-back will spend the coming season on loan with Ekstraklasa outfit, Widzew Łódź.
“Early on, we were transparent with Gazi and told him that he wouldn’t play a part in our sporting plans for the upcoming season. For us, it was important to give him clarity as early as possible, so that he and his agent could search for the best possible solution for his future. Together, we’ve been able to find a constellation that works well for all involved and gives Gazi the opportunity to get regular game time at a good level in Łódź. We thank him for his professionalism, given the situation, at every point and wish him the best for the future in Łódź,” said FC Managing Director, Thomas Kessler.
“Obviously I would have liked to have the chance to show myself again at FC. Unfortunately, those in charge made a different decision. Now I am pleased that I have found a club in Widzew Łódź, where I have the chance to show myself from the start of the season with the clear goal of becoming a first-team player. I will give everything at Łódź to make that happen,” said Jusuf Gazibegović.
In the second-half of last season, Gazibegović made 11 appearances in the Austrian Bundesliga and once in the ÖFB-Cup. The Bosnia and Herzegovina international joined FC in the January 2025 transfer window as Austrian champion and as a UEFA Champions League player. He made 11 2. Bundesliga appearances in the 2. Bundesliga and was able to help FC return to the Bundesliga, where he featured once.
