In his youth, Denis Huseinbasic played for SpVgg Erbach, SV Darmstadt 98, Eintracht Frankfurt and then, from 2018 onwards, for Kickers Offenbach. Huseinbasic played 58 times in the Regionalliga West, scoring nine goals and setting up a further seven.
Huseinbasic joined FC at the beginning of the 2022-23 season. He almost scored on his debut, only to score a week later against Borussia Mönchengladbach; albeit a consolation. Huseinbasic also scored in the UEFA Europa Conference League in what was a very successful breakout season in the top tier of German football.
