Jan Thielmann won the 2019 under-17 German Championship with FC. He made his debut for the first-team later that year, featuring as a 17-year-old against Bayer Leverkusen. He was the second-youngest Bundesliga debütant in the FC history and the first Bundesliga player born in 2002.
Thielmann comes from Föhren, a small town close to Trier. He started playing football at JSG Hetzerath/Föhren/Bekond, before moving into Eintracht Trier's academy in 2015. In 2017, he then made the move to Köln. It was the logical move, as Jan is a huge FC fan. He has gone on to make over 100 competitive appearances for the club.
