FC loan out Jahmai Simpson-Pusey

1/6/2026

1. FC Köln have signed Jahmai Simpson-Pusey. The centre-back has joined on loan until the end of the season from Manchester City. The 20-year-old spent the first half of the season on loan at Celtic. After a successful medical on Sunday afternoon, the England under-20 flew to Spain to join up with the rest of the FC squad in La Nucia.

“Jahmai is a talented player who, despite his young age, already has experience at the highest level. He enjoyed his footballing education at one of the world’s best clubs and is excellent on the ball. With his signing, we have secured an option at the centre-back position and the necessary depth at that position. Jahmai brings a high level of motivation and a real desire to the club, which will have a positive influence on the competition for places,” said Sporting Director, Thomas Kessler.

“The move to Köln is a fresh start for me, and one I’m really looking forward to. As I looked into FC and the history around the club, I wanted to get started right away. Now I’m looking forward to getting to know my new team-mates – and Hennes, when I get back to Köln. I want to play as much as possible here and help FC to reach their goals this season,” said Jahmai Simpson-Pusey.

Jahmai Simpson-Pusey was born on 4th November 2005 in Huddersfield. At the age of 8, he joined Manchester City’s academy and went through the ranks at the Premier League club. In 2024, he led the under-18s onto the pitch as captain as they secured the FA Youth Cup. He also won the under-18 Premier League twice (21-22 and 22-23), as well as the Premier League 2 (22-23 and 24-25). In October 2024, he made his senior debut for Pep Guardiola’s side against Tottenham in the League Cup. He went on to make five further appearances for City’s first-team.
