1. FC Köln have signed Kristoffer Lund on loan from Palermo until the end of the season.
“Kristoffer has the exact profile that we were looking for on the left side. He combines defensive stability with an attacking mind and his mentality means that fills that position as we had wished. Despite his young age, he already has international experience. With his dynamism, he increases our options on the left side. His signing means that we have increased our quality and the competition for places on the left as hoped,” said Sporting Director, Thomas Kessler.
“As I heard about the offer, I started to look into FC straight away. It is a big club with a lot of history and a wonderful fanbase. The talks we had with those responsible were very good as well. FC play in the Bundesliga, one of the best leagues in Europe. I feel ready for that and I want to prove myself here – that’s why I decided to join FC,” said Kristoffer Lund.
Kristogger Lund was born on 14th May 2002 in Kerteminde, Denmark. With an American mother, he also has an American passport. He took his first footballing steps with FC Midtjylland, where he stayed until 2021 and made his debut in March 2021. After a short time with Esbjerg fB, he made his way to BK Häcken in the Allsvenskann and quickly became a key player. In 2023, he joined Palermo and made 68 appearances for the Italian side. He has featured for all Danish youth teams up until under-21 level, before deciding for the USA and has, so far, earned seven caps.
