1. FC Köln have signed Marius Bülter. The forward signed a deal on Thursday afternoon until 2027.
“Marius doesn’t only bring flexibility and Bundesliga experience with him but, in our discussions, made it very clear that he is chomping at the bit to get going at 1. FC Köln. We are convinced that he fits well to us, both as a person and on the pitch. With his quality and mentality, he will increase the competition for places in our attack once more. We are really pleased that he is now part of our team,” said Sporting Director, Thomas Kessler.
Marius Bülter made 25 appearances in the past season for TSG Hoffenheim, scoring seven goals and setting up a further four. He will wear the number 30 at FC.
“As soon as the first contact came, I thought straight away: that could work. The discussions were very good. Obviously, I’ve already played here a few times and the club and the stadium with the atmosphere is super. For that reason, the package worked. As I drove over the Rhein on Wednesday evening, that was something special. I am really looking forward to getting started in Köln,” said Marius Bülter.
Marius Bülter was born on 29th March 1993 in Ibbenbüren. He took his first footballing steps at SV Brukteria Dreierwalde and after going through the academy at Preußen Münster, he worked his way through the leagues with FC Eintracht Rheine, SuS Neunkirchen and then SV Rödinghausen in the Regionalliga West. In the 2017-18 season, he scored 20 goals and was topscorer in the league. In Summer 2018, 1. FC Magdeburg signed the forward, and he made 32 appearances in the 2. Bundesliga, scoring four times.
After their relegation, Bülter moved to 1. FC Union Berlin in the Bundesliga. After 58 games and eight goals, he joined FC Schalke 04 in 2021 and played a huge part in their promotion back to the Bundesliga (32 games, 10 goals, 13 assists). In the 2022-23 season, he managed 11 goals in the Bundesliga, but Schalke were still relegated. The move to Hoffenheim followed, where he managed 10 goals and nine assists in 63 games.
