1. FC Köln have signed a new right-back. On Friday morning before training, Sebastian Sebulonsen signed a deal until 2028 after he passed his medical on Thursday afternoon.
“We are very pleased to add a second right-back to our squad in Sebastian. He is a strong athlete that fulfils our criteria to be a physically robust, flexible player and gives us more options in our squad. His qualities and potential to develop make him a valuable addition to our team,” said Sporting Director, Thomas Kessler.
Sebulonsen is Norwegian and has been with Danish Superliga side, Bröndby IF since 2022. In the past season, the wing-back played 38 games, helping the Danes to qualify for the Championship round and finished the season in third place.
“I am really happy to be here. My team-mates, who have already played in Germany, only told me good things about FC. Therefore, I can’t wait to wear the FC kit for the first time and to play in the RheinEnergieSTADION. I want to help FC to reach our goals and will do my best to do that with the way I play,” said Sebastian Sebulonsen.
Sebastian Sebulonsen was born on 27th January 2000 in Sola, Norway. The 19-time under-21 international took his first footballing steps in his hometown with Sola FK and made his professional debut in the Norwegian second division at the age of 16 (26 games, nine goals). In December 2019, he moved to the top-flight and Viking FK. In 2022, he then made the switch to Denmark and Bröndby. He featured 67 times (11 goals, six assists).
