Jakub Kaminski joins on loan from Wolfsburg

The next new face for the new season has been confirmed. On Friday, attacker Jakub Kaminski completed his medical check and signed a deal with 1. FC Köln. The 23-year-old Polish international will play for FC on loan next season.

“With Jakub, we’ve gained a player that has valuable Bundesliga experience and shown his qualities here despite his young age. He brings pace, good technical ability and a high level of determination and willingness, especially in the final third. With his dynamism and directness, he gives our attacking game new impulses and fits well to our path with his ambitious nature. We are convinced that he can continue to develop here and, at the same time, help the team straight away. We are very pleased that he has decided to join 1. FC Köln,” said FC Sporting Director, Thomas Kessler.

Jakub Kaminski said: “FC is a club with huge history. It’s even better now, that the club is back in the Bundesliga. My goal is to take the step here and to be successful with my new team-mates.”

Jakub Kaminski was born on 5th June 2002 in Ruda Śląska. Kaminski, who can play various attacking position, has featured the most on the left side. He took his first footballing steps with Szombierki Bytom. From 2015, he made the move to Lech Poznan. At the age of 17, he made his debut for the Polish giants in the Ekstraklasa and developed into a key player straight away (102 games, 16 goals and 17 assists). In 2022, Kaminski opted for the move to VfL Wolfsburg. Since then, he’s featured in 70 Bundesliga games (four goals, eight assists) and eight times in the DFB-Pokal (one goal, two assists). He has been a part of the Poland youth setup since under-16 level and already has 22 caps for his country, including one goal.
