Celina Degen was born on 16th May 2001 in Graz and grew up in Steiermark. She took her first footballing steps at SV Gössendorf 2015 and then joined SK Sturm Graz. At the age of 15, she made her debut in the Bundesliga and three years later became club captain. In summer 2020, she made the move to Germany and TSG Hoffenheim. There, she also made her league debut and featured in the UEFA Champions League.
Degen featured regularly throughout the Austrian youth setup and made her debut for the senior national team in the World Cup qualifier against Luxembourg on 30th November 2021. She scored her first goal for her country in April 2022 against Latvia and was part of Austria's squad for the 2022 European Championship in England.
