FC and Markus Rejek go their separate ways
In the past few weeks, 1. FC Köln and Managing Director, Markus Rejek have prepared a handover of business and have ended the working relationship prematurely by mutual agreement. Before the turn of the year, Markus Rejek had announced that he would not be extending his contract as Managing Director, which runs until June 2025, for personal reasons.
“Markus Rejek has handed over his responsibilities to his Managing Director colleagues Philipp Türoff and Christian Keller in recent days. We, as the Board of Directors, have already begun an intensive search for a suitable successor. We would like to thank Markus, Philipp and Christian for creating the conditions to ensure that we are also well positioned in this phase, in order to give the process the time and space it deserves,” explained FC President, Dr. Werner Wolf. “We would like to thank Markus for his commitment to 1. FC Köln and wish him all the best for his professional and personal future.”
Markus Rejek said: “I'm keeping my fingers crossed that we can all celebrate promotion back to the Bundesliga together at the end of the season. When I started working at FC back in November 2022, I only had a rough idea of what “Spürbar Anders” could mean. Many encounters with employees at Geißbockheim, partners and fans have filled this feeling with life.”
