FC coaching staff confirmed
The FC coaching staff for the new season has taken shape. Bernd Eibler and Thomas Hickersberger are the assistant coaches to new head coach, Gerhard Struber. Peter Greiber will be the goalkeeping coach. Max Weuthen, Tillmann Bockhorst and Leif Frach will continue in their athletic and rehab coach roles. The same goes for analysts Hannes Dold and Denis Huckestein.
FC Managing Director, Christian Keller said: "When building our new coaching staff, it was important to find the right balance between competence, strong characters and experience. We are really pleased that we were able to bring in Thomas Hickersberger, Bernd Eibler and Peter Greiber. All three have arrived with conviction and the ambition, alongside the entire coaching staff, to lift the potential within our team through the systematic relaying of our game plan and clear leadership."
Bernd Eibler was born on 8th March 1994 in Wiener Neustadt. The 30-year-old was previously assistant coach at FC Liefering and was with Struber at the New York Red Bulls between October 2020 and August 2023.
Thomas Hickersberger was born on 21st August 1973 in Offenbach am Main and grew up in Austria. The former defender has been working as an assistant coach since he retired in 2007. Aside from a stint at SCR Altach, he has been with Rapid Wien since 2011.
Peter Greiber was born on 28th October 1968 in Mainz. During his studies at the Sporthochschule in Köln, he took on the job as goalkeeper coach at 1. FC Köln in 1995 and remained within the academy until 2005. He then joined VfL Bochum and has been the first-team goalkeeper coach up to his FC return.
