FC welcomed in Sanfrecce’s new stadium
Sanfrecce Hiroshima, FC’s partner club, opened the new Edion Peace Wing Hiroshima Stadion with a 2:0 win. Michael Skibbe’s side stayed unbeaten thanks to the win and remained in second in the J-League, one point behind Machida Zelvia.
Sanfrecce were supported by Lukas Berg. The Academy Director, who is currently in Japan as part of FC’s delegation, met with Hiroshima’s Managing Director, Shingo Senda before the game and presented him with an FC kit as well as a special illustration which shows both mascots together.
“Our co-operation with Sanfrecce is focused largely on sharing out know-how in the Bundesliga and our work in the academy onto the Japanese players and coaches. From that point of view, it is very nice to see that several players from Sanfrecce’s academy were on the pitch,” said Berg. “It’s a great stadium with great fans, which serves for even more motivation.”
