He is currently preparing for the European Championship with Austria and in the coming season he will remain an important part of the 1. FC Köln squad in the 2. Bundesliga. Florian Kainz is the next player to commit to FC despite the clause in his contract and has extended his contract past 2025.
Florian Kainz said: “In my time at FC so far, I’ve experienced many emotional situations. 2. Bundesliga winners, dramatic survival in the relegation play-off, qualification for the UEFA Europa Conference League and now, unfortunately, relegation. However, in Köln we go through thick and thin together. In the last five years, FC has become my club and the city is now my second home. I will give my best to be successful with the team once more. I want to lead with my experience and I am looking forward to the upcoming season.”
FC Managing Director, Christian Keller said: “Flo is one of our top performers and one of the most recognisable faces here. He plays a very important role for the chemistry within the team.
