Selina Cerci was born on 31st May 2000 in Kiel. She took her first footballing steps with SV Friedrichsort before she moved to Holstein Kiel and then Magdeburger FFC. In 2017, Cerci joined FC Bayern Munich. She made 22 appearances, scoring 14 goals for their reserve side. A return to northern Germany followed to SV Werder Bremen. After two seasons at the Weser outfit and their successful return to the Bundesliga (13 goals in 14 games), Cerci moved to Turbine Potsdam. She scored 28 goals in 43 for Turbine, making her way into the German national team and making her debut on 17th February 2022 against Spain.
In the 2022-23 season, FC signed Selina Cerci from Turbine Potsdam. She suffered a knee injury in her final months in Potsdam which she had to recover from. Cerci made her return in early 2023 and scored her first goal for FC in the crucial 3:1 win over SC Freiburg in May 2023, which ultimately secured survival.
Her strengths on the pitch are there for all to be seen. However, her mental strength to remain positive despite injury setbacks is another reason for her success.
