Sofie Vendelbo was born on 9th February 2000 in Silkeborg, Denmark. She made her first footballing steps in Engesvang before moving to Vildbjerg SF. Vendelbo made her debut there in the Danish top flight and stayed there until 2019. After that, she joined Aarhus GF, where she quickly became a key player. She then joined KRC Genk in Belgium in January 2023.
With Genk, she secured fourth place in the league and reached the final of the Danish Cup. Vendelbo featured in 14 of 16 possible games and scored a goal. Vendelbo can play as centre-back as well as right-back and arrived in summer 2023 in Köln.
