1. FC Köln have signed Carlotta Wamser from Eintracht Frankfurt. The 20-year-old forward has joined on loan until summer 2024. Wamser won the silver Fritz-Walter-Medal in 2022, which is handed out to the top youth talents in Germany.

Carlotta Wamser was born on 1st November 2003 in Herford. Wamser played for TuS Grastrup-Retzen, TBV Lemgo and SpVg Brakel. Wamser won the 2019 European U17 Championship with Germany thanks to a penalty shoot-out win against the Netherlands, earning herself a place in the competition’s All-Star team.

In 2020, the talented attacker moved to SGS Essen and made her Bundesliga debut on 4th September. In the same year, she won the bronze Fritz-Walter-Medal, then two years later in silver. Wamser became a first-team regular straight away in Essen, scoring five goals in the 2020-21 campaign.

In summer 2022, Wamser made the move to Eintracht Frankfurt. Wamser has already featured 70 times in the Bundesliga, scoring nine goals. Along with her appearances in the Bundesliga, Wamser has featured five times in the UEFA Women’s Champions League.

Nicole Bender-Rummler, Head of Women’s Football, said: “Carlotta Wamser is a very talented forward with room to develop. She is dynamic in the way she plays, drives towards goal and is good in one-on-one situations as well as in front of goal. We’re looking forward to Carlotta getting started and her strengthening our forward line.”

Carlotta Wamser said: “I am really looking forward to a new adventure in Köln and I am thankful to FC and Eintracht that the loan worked out. My personal goal is to develop through minutes on the pitch and to help my new team as best I can with good performances.”
