FC sign Taylor Ziemer
1. FC Köln have signed Taylor Ziemer. The 25-year-old midfielder joins the club from Dutch champions, FC Twente. She has signed a deal at FC until 30th June 2026.
Ziemer was born on 16th July 1998 in Santa Rosa, California. She made her way through the national youth setup for her country until U19 level. She spent time at University of Virginia and Texas A&M in College, spending two seasons at both. In 2014 and 2015, she was voted as Gatorade Player of the Year in California.
She split her time between Virginia and Texas with a season at ADO Den Haag, then returning to Europe in 2021 to Iceland and Breðablik. Nicole Bender-Rummler, Head of Women’s Football, said: “In Taylor Ziemer, we have signed a goalscoring midfielder who possesses good technique and can play multiple positions. Taylor brings character onto the pitch and played a big part in Twente winning the league. We are pleased that she has decided to move to Germany and FC.”
Taylor Ziemer said: “I had a really warm welcome and I’m very much looking forward to getting started at FC. I had a positive feeling from the beginning. FC have a lot of fans and the city is great. I want to play well and do my bit for the club so that we can have a successful season.”
