The first game of the 2. Bundesliga season has been announced. 1. FC Köln will kick-start the new campaign against Hamburger SV on Friday, 2nd August at the RheinEnergieSTADION. Kick-off is at 20:30 CEST.
“I am really looking forward to it. A home game, what can I say. To experience the RheinEnergieSTADION for the first time that way as a coach is really cool. And for us, it is great to have such a big club as our first opponent,” said FC head coach, Gerhard Struber.
It will also be the return of Steffen Baumgart and his coaching staff to Köln, who has been at HSV since February. The last time the two met in the 2. Bundesliga, the game finished 1:1 in Müngersdorf back in the 2018-19 season.
