1. FC Köln won their second pre-season friendly against Sportfreunde Siegen 6:0. Luca Waldschmidt, Denis Huseinbasic, Eric Martel, a Tim Lemperle brace and Sargis Adamyan’s penalty.
Five at the break
FC got off to a great start in the seventh minute. Luca Waldschmidt converted from 10 yards after Dejan Ljubicic made the most of a mistake in the Siegen defence. Three minutes later, Waldschmidt turned provider for Denis Huseinbasic to poke past Julian Bibleka in the home goal.
After being denied by the Siegen stopper moments before, Tim Lemperle extended FC’s lead. Waldschmidt’s superb ball over the defence saw Lemperle run through and convert coolly from close range. Eric Martel’s header from Meiko Wäschenbach’s corner added to the tally, and Tim Lemperle registered his second just before the break to make it five.
Controlled second-half
Gerhard Struber made 10 changes at the break as FC continued to push for further goals. That came in the 72nd minute after Steffen Tigges was fouled in the box. Sargis Adamyan stepped up and made no mistake from 12 yards.
FC are next in action next Saturday as they take on Kickers Offenbach at the Südstadion. Kick-off on 13th July is at 14:00 CEST.
