Gerhard Struber is the new FC coach

1. FC Köln will start the 2024-25 season with Gerhard Struber as head coach. The 47-year-old Austrian with a UEFA Pro Licence most recently coached RB Salzburg and was with the club in the UEFA Champions League group stage. Prior to that, Struber was with the New York Red Bulls, Barnsley and Wolfsberger AC. His coaching career began in 2007 as part of the RB academy. In 2016, he then took over the head coach role with FC Liefering.

Struber signed his contract on Tuesday afternoon and will welcome the team back from the summer break on 21st June at Geißbockheim. Three days later, he will take charge of his first training session and will also be officially presented as FC head coach.

The vacant positions within the coaching staff will be filled up until the start of training. The respective talks are currently ongoing.

FC head coach, Gerhard Struber said: “I am taking on the task with a lot of excitement and positivity. I am really looking forward to getting to know the team, coaching staff and the fans. I want to get to know FC as quickly as possible, in order to go about chasing and reaching our goals.”
