Hübers: "Left our hearts on the pitch"
Five goals and a home win against Eintracht Braunschweig. On Saturday evening, the FC faithful were heading home happy after the 5:0 victory. Timo Hübers and Leart Pacarada had their say after the game.
Timo Hübers: “Here in Müngersdorf, scoring one goal after another, was a great feeling. We dropped points in the league before today, although the performances weren’t that bad, but we rewarded ourselves tonight. Many elements that make up our game were on show. A set-piece, a goal after winning the ball back, we always managed to find space behind the opposition defence. It was important that we kept going after half-time and put the game to bed, defending well, too. We left our hearts on the pitch today. We can enjoy it tonight, but we have to keep going. We want to get into a flow and work our way into the season.”
Leart Pacarada: “Is there anything better than Saturday night, rain, floodlights on and then a result like that? We were dominant today and deserved the win. We needed that. We scored fairly quickly; we knew that our opponent would then have difficulties as a result. We did well, because we’re not in the run of things to hold onto a result but instead keep pressing. Today was the first step but we all know that the city and club can ride on a wave when success comes. We have a difficult game away to Schalke next week. We also want to do well there. The game today will give our youngsters and the entire team confidence.”
