Denis Huseinbasic kept it short and simple on Saturday afternoon: “I’m disappointed.” The midfielder had hoped for more against SV Elversberg: “We played so well in the first-half. We went ahead and had more chances to go further in front. We have to take that on the chin, that we didn’t use our chances.”
After the break, Elversberg turned the game on its head: “The first few minutes, we were asleep and then, in a flash, it was 2:1. That can’t happen, and we have to analyse how it did happen. I can’t explain it myself.”
He had given FC the lead in the first-half, converting after a lovely team move. “We analysed the opponent, where the space is and wanted to use that just as it worked out. The first goal was just as we had planned,” explained Huseinbasic. Looking at the many FC chances, he said: “We have to be more clinical in the coming games.”
