The first player to depart ahead of the 2024-25 season has been confirmed. Jeff Chabot will leave 1. FC Köln and not go with the club into the 2. Bundesliga.
FC Managing Director, Christian Keller said: “We had very good discussions with Jeff and wanted to keep him at the club above all else, after a strong season where he developed into a leader and put in strong performances on the pitch. It is to Jeff’s credit, that he thought long and hard about staying at the club no matter what league. Yesterday, he told us that he had decided to move on and that was coupled with his dream of playing in the Champions League. We accept and respect that. Jeff has earned that chance thanks to his impressive performances. We are thankful for his performances We are thankful for his time at FC and wish him the very best for the future. He’ll always be welcome here.”
