Noah Katterbach joins Hamburger SV
1. FC Köln and Hamburger SV have come to an agreement over the transfer of Noah Katterbach. The 22-year-old left-back will join the 2. Bundesliga side on a permanent deal, having previously spent the 2022-23 Rückrunde on loan in Hamburg.
FC Managing Director, Christian Keller said: “For Noah, it is important to give his career a restart after his development in the past years hasn’t gone to plan. The move to HSV, which would have taken place on 1st July anyway, makes sense for all parties. We wish Noah all the best for the future and plenty of success as well.”
Noah Katterbach was born on 13th April 2001 in Simmerath. The wing-back has been with 1. FC Köln since 2008, having made his way through all academy teams at Geißbockheim before making his Bundesliga debut against FC Schalke 04 on 5th October 2019. He went on to feature 40 times in the topflight for FC. In January 2022, Katterbach was loaned out to FC Basel until January 2023 before making the move on loan to Hamburger SV. The two-time winner of the Fritz-Walter-Medal in Gold has been part of the German youth setup since the under-16s and has made 12 appearances for the under-21s.
