Now available: Limited-edition “LP10” remembers a young Lukas Podolski

Our number 10 returns to Köln and will wear red and white for the final time on Thursday, 10^th October 2024. To top the occasion off, he will wear a specially designed, limited-edition “LP10” kit for the game. The homage to the kit, which the 18-year-old wore in his first home game on 22^nd November 2003, was designed by Podolski, the cub and kit supplier, hummel.

The limited-edition kit “LP10” is now available in FC fanshops and online on fc.de for 99.95€ (adults, FC members 89.96€) or 79.95€ (child, FC members 71.96€) and comes in a special collector box. The names and numbers “Podolski 10” and “Podolski 36” will be offered for a discounted 10€.

“Danke Köln. Danke FC. Danke fans. What is inside the collar is at the heart of the idea behind the kit. I want to thank the city and the fans with this one-of-a-kind kit, as well as my hometown club, FC. The majority of the proceeds from the kit will go to the club. I want to use my share to support a concrete FC project with a donation,” said Lukas Podolski.

“The special kit is a reminder of Poldi’s start in football, as the quick, strong-dribbling and passionate youngster with a left foot made to score special goals won over the hearts of FC fans inside a matter of weeks. The design brings us back to that time and brings the special moments that we connect to that kit back to life,” explained FC managing director, Markus Rejek.

“Lukas Podolski is a true footballing legend and we are proud to have created this kit alongside 1. FC Köln, which showcases his connection to the club. At hummel, we always like to celebrate players that inspire on and off the pitch. Lukas Podolski is, without doubt, one of those. This kit is a homage to his lasting influence on football and the loyal fans, who supported him during his incredible career,” said Morten Lund, Managing Director at hummel.

The FC team and he himself will wear the special ‘LP10’ jersey at the sold-out thank-you game with numerous World Cup winners from 2014, former team-mates from Poldi's time at FC, players from the current FC squad and team-mates from his Polish home club, Gornik Zabrze.

The special ‘LP10’ jersey is predominantly white and, with its red accents on the shoulder and side inserts, collar, sleeve cuffs and hem, is reminiscent of the FC home jersey from the 2003-04 season. The highlight is a lenticular badge on the right sleeve, in which the LP10 logo and the Köln city crest appear alternately depending on the orientation thanks to a 3D effect.
